A child prodigy, Taylor Swift (born on December 13, 1989) made her first visit to the country music capital Nashville when she was just eleven, handing out tapes of herself to labels. To help develop her songwriting, her family moved from Pennsylvania to Nashville where she became the youngest staff songwriter ever signed by Sony/ATV Tree Publishing. Taylor had her first hit at 16 in 2006 with Tim McGraw, following it with a self-titled debut album, which produced four more hits. Her second album Fearless was released in 2008, selling over four million copies, helping to make her America's biggest-selling artist of the year. She followed with Speak Now in 2010, preceded by its lead single “Mine” which debuted into the Hot 100 at Number 3. She won two Grammy Awards for the single “Mean” and embarked on a world tour. In 2012, she released the track "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” the lead single from her fourth album Red. The single became the fastest single in digital history, reaching Number 1 on the iTunes Chart just an hour after its release. She followed this success with “Begin Again,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “Everything Has Changed,” and “Red.” Following its release, the album soared to the top of the Billboard 200. With more awards coming her way, Swift wasted no time getting back in the studio to pen her fifth full-length, 1989. The album was released in 2014 and featured the hit “Shake It Off,” which earned her another Number 1 on the Hot 100. After the further singles “Blank Space,” “Bad Blood,” and “New Romantics,” Swift announced she was taking a short break to work on her new album. Reputation was released in 2017 and was led by the chart-topping single “Look What You Made Me Do.” The second single, “...Ready for It,” saw the light later that year, reaching Number 4 in the US, with the album selling more than one million copies in its first four days on sale. In 2019, she returned with “Me!,” the lead single from her seventh studio album Lover, released in August of that year. At the turn of the decade, Swift surprised her fans with Folklore (2020), which broke several records across streaming platforms, and the more experimental sister album Evermore, released less than five months after Taylor Swift’s eighth full-length. Its lead single “Willow” climbed to Number 28 on Billboard’s Adult Top 40. Following a legal dispute over her back catalog with former label Big Machine, she set out to re-record new versions of her earlier albums, starting with 2008’s Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version) in 2021. Both albums debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Midnights, her first collection of new material since 2020's Evermore, appeared in 2022 and also shot straight to the top of the pop charts in the US. Speak Now (Taylor's Version), a re-recording of her 2010 third studio full-length, came out in 2023 and included cameos by Fall Out Boy and Hayley Williams from Paramore.
