The Changcuters

A rock band from Bandung, Indonesia, The Changcuters formed in 2004. Vocalist Tria Ramadhani, guitarist Muhammad Qibil, and bassist Dipa Hasibuan launched the band as a trio, with drummer Erick Nindyoastomo and guitarist Arlanda Langitan joining the lineup several months later. Leaning heavily on their mutual rock & roll influences, the bandmates created a sound inspired by The Rolling Stones, The Strokes, and The Beatles. Mencoba Sukses, The Changcuters' debut album, was released in 2006. After signing with Sony Music, The Changcuters released their debut album once again in 2008, this time under the revised title of Mencoba Sukses Kembali. The following year, they were named "Best Newcomers" at the 2009 AMI Awards, Indonesia's equivalent of the Grammy Awards. The Changcuters & Misteri Kalajengking Hitam was released in 2009, followed by Tugas Akhir in 2011. Both albums expanded The Changcuters' rock-inspired sound, with genres like rockabilly, surf, country, and Arabian music all influencing the band's new material. The Changcuters continued to record material during the remainder of the 2010s, releasing Visualis in 2013, Binauralis in 2016, and Loyalis in 2020.
