The Devil Wears Prada

A metalcore band with Christian-themed lyrics, The Devil Wears Prada formed in 2005 in Dayton, Ohio. Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord, the band's debut album, was released the following year, featuring a guest appearance by Cole Wallace of the band Gwen Stacy. Plagues followed in 2007 and became The Devil Wears Prada's first album to chart, reaching Number 57 on the Billboard 200 and Number 6 one the US Independent Albums chart. The band signed with Ferret Music and released With Roots Above and Branches Below in 2009. A chart-topping release on the Independent Albums chart, With Roots Above and Branches Below also hit Number 11 on the Billboard 200. An EP, Zombie, followed in 2010, featuring a more aggressive brand of metalcore as well as a storyline about a zombie apocalypse. Zombie reached Number 10 on the Billboard 200, as did the band's next full-length album, Dead Throne, in 2011. By 2013, The Devil Wears Prada had become a successful act across multiple formats, as evidenced by the multi-genre success of the band's fifth album, 8:18. Released by Roadrunner Records, 8:18 peaked at Number 1 on the Top Christian Albums chart, Number 2 on the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, and Number 20 on the Billboard 200. Two years later, the band released a non-album track, "South of the City," which peaked at Number 42 on the Hot Christian Songs chart. 2016's Transit Blues and 2019's The Act both charted within the Top 5 of the Top Hard Rock Albums chart, even as the band's success on the Billboard 200 began to wane. Color Decay followed in 2022, preceded by singles like "Watchtower" and "Salt."
