The Yeah You's

United by a mutual obsession with the camp pomp of 1980s pop, the duo The Yeah You's met when budding actor Nick Ingram attended a read-through of a play written by budding playwright Mike Kintish. They struck up an immediate friendship from which grew a set of piano-based songs doused in feel-good, sunshine hooks and soaring melodies that were quickly snapped up by Island Records. Taking their name from the inane, everyday greeting "You alright?", "Yeah. You?", their first single 15 Minutes played on Andy Warhol's famous quote that everyone would be famous for 15 minutes and drew comparisons with The Feeling, Mika and Frankmusik. Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Greg Wells, debut album Looking Through You (2009) was crammed with lush, stylish off-kilter hooks and was named the Radio 2 Album of the Week. The lads have also found time to play at the Isle of Wight Festival and record a cover version of Aswad's Shine with grime star Tynchy Stryder as part of Island Records' 50th anniversary celebrations.
