Troy Sneed

Troy Sneed is a singer/producer with a long, distinguished career in gospel music. His first album, Call Jesus, appeared in 1999, and from that point forward the Jacksonville, Florida-based singer remained a prominent figure in modern black gospel. Born in Perry, Florida on December 14, 1967, Sneed played football in high school, but after sustaining an injury while playing for Florida A&M, he chose to concentrate on gospel music. He sang in a choir while at college, working as the director for FAMU's Gospel Choir, choosing to work as an elementary school teacher after graduation. Eventually, he met Savoy Records' Milton Bingham, who hired him as an assistant music minister for Atlanta's Georgia Mass Choir. Sneed signed with Malaco for 1999's Call Jesus but moved to Savoy for 2001's Bless That Wonderful Name! In 2005, he established his own Emtro Gospel label, launching the imprint with A State of Worship. In His Presence followed in 2006, with 2009 bringing In Due Season. My Heart Says Yes appeared in 2011, followed by All Is Well in 2012. Awesome God saw release in 2015, with Taking It Back appearing in 2017. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
