Ultrapull, one of the many modern rock outfits to emerge from Los Angeles during the new millennium, composes a feverish spunk similar to the likes of Fuel and matchbox twenty. Dale Everett (guitar/vocals) and Gerard Garcia (guitar) lead the band's direction of catchy guitar hooks and lyrical emotion, for the two have been making music together since the mid-'90s. Bassist Pete Griffin and drummer Harry Meguerdichian joined them later and Ultrapull was official. They inked a deal with Gold Circle in early 2001 and prepped for a fierce debut. The band, which takes a lot from Everett's personal battles of being denied by his father, derive a melodic and inviting sound. From All Directions marked such fervor in April 2002. ~ MacKenzie Wilson
