Wankelmut

German electronic DJ Wankelmut was born Jacob Dilßner on July 17, 1987. While studying at University he began taking DJ gigs, and his musical career began to take off when he uploaded “One Day/Reckoning Song (Wanklemut RMX)” to his social media in 2011 and the recording took a life of its own. The label who owned the rights to the original song, recorded by Asaf Avidan & The Mojos, released the remix officially in 2012, and it went to number 1 in numerous European countries. His follow-up single, 2013’s “My Head Is a Jungle”, a remix of the Emma Louise track “Jungle” also performed well across the continent. He teamed with Get Physical Music to release a series of remix compilations, three of which were released through the end of the decade. In addition he released singles of remixes from artists such as John Lamonica (“Wasted So Much Time”), Charlotte OC (”Almost Mine”), and collaborated with Alexander Tidebrink for the 2018 track “Work of Art”. He started his own label, WKLMT, with the 2020 single “Ayahuasca”.
