Afgansyah "Afgan" Reza, known professionally as Afgan, (born 27 May 1989 in Jakarta) is an Indopop star and actor of Minangkabau descent who unwittingly scored his first break in 2007 while recording an album with friends at a studio in Jakarta. Impressed with his singing voice, the studio's producers offered him a contract – and his first solo album arrived the following year. Confession No.1 drew from a mix of R&B, jazz, and pop and included tracks "Terima Kasih Cinta," "Klise," "Sadis," and "Tanpa Batas Waktu," while welcoming an array of collaborators musicians such as Fajar PJ Maringka (Fajar "Element"), Harry Budiman, Deddy Dhukun, Dian Pernama Poetra, and Bebi Romeo as a composer. His second studio album, The One, landed in 2010, with the single "Cinta 2 Hati" noted for its inclusion on the soundtrack of the Indonesian film of the same name, in which Afgan starred alongside Olivia Jensen He performed the song at the Southeast Asian Games in 2011 and he has since released four more full-length albums: L1ve to Love, Love to L1ve (2013), Sides (2016), Dekade (2018), and 2021's R&B-adjacent Wallflower.
