A-Lin

Lisang Pacidal Koyouan is a Taiwanese singer of indigenous descent who performs under the name A-Lin. Born on September 20, 1983, in the city of Kaohsiung, she was discovered by an agent while teaching children how to sing the hymn "Amazing Grace" after the 1999 Jiji earthquake. Even though she wasn't able to exchange contact information at the time, she ran into him four years later at the bar where she used to sing regularly and was offered a record deal. Lovelorn, Not Guilty, her studio debut, appeared in 2006 via Avex Taiwan and elicited praise from critics, drawing comparisons to singer A-Mei. In 2010, she won Most Popular Mandarin Song for the track "Before, After," included in the 2009 album of the same name. After her label Avex Taiwan ceased to exist, A-Lin signed with Sony Music and released the album Guilt (2014), followed by an eponymous album in 2017. Over the next few years, she made her acting debut on the drama More than Blue (2018) and issued her tenth album LINK (2022), whose lead single "Best Friend" entered the Singaporean Top 200 at Number 181.
