Hyoyeon

Kim Hyo-yeon (September 22, 1989), also known as Hyoyeon or DJ Hyo, is a South Korean singer and dancer who rose to fame as a member of the popular K-pop girl group Girls' Generation. Born in the city of Incheon, she began her formal training in elementary school, specializing in hip-hop, jazz, and Latin dance. After a successful audition for SM Entertainment at the age of 11, Hyoyeon was sent to Beijing to study Chinese and continued her dance education under the wing of several world-renowned choreographers. In 2007, she finally made her official debut with the all-female pop act Girls' Generation, releasing a string of chart-topping albums that enjoyed great popularity in both South Korea and Japan. Following a series of high-profile appearances on local reality shows and TV dramas, Hyoyeon launched her solo career with the single "Mystery" in 2016. Follow-up singles "Wannabe" (2017) with San E, "Sober" (2018) with Ummet Ozcan, and "Dessert" (2020) with Loopy and Soyeon all entered Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart, establishing Hyoyeon as one of South Korea's finest musical exports. In 2022, "Deep," the title track from her first studio album of the same name reached Number 25 on the Singaporean charts.
