Ariel Lin

Ariel Lin Yi-chen (born on October 29, 1982 in Yilan, Taiwan) (known as Ariel Lin) is a Taiwanese actress and singer. Discovered in a Taiwanese beauty contest at the age of 18, she debuted as an actress in 2002, performing in several television dramas and films. In 2004, she recorded the theme song “Alone in the Northern Hemisphere” for television series Love Contract, topping both the KTV and ring tone charts for twelve weeks. Rising to fame in the mid-2000s and winning several awards for her roles in Chinese television dramas, Lin continued to record theme songs, releasing “Adventure of Lunia” for the popular video game Lunia: Record of Lunia War. Signing a three-album contract with Avex Taiwan, Lin released her debut album Blissful Encounter in 2009 selling over 20,000 copies within two days, followed by A Wonderful Journey in 2010. Continuing to garner significant success both as a singer and actress, Lin was named in the top 100 of influential celebrities in China by Forbes magazine in 2013.
